Dr. Maite Lestayo is a Doctor of Dental Medicine with a deep commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care — especially to those who need it most. Her journey has taken her from the heart of Cuba to clinics and hospitals across the U.S., and every step has been defined by resilience, determination and a calling to help others. Through hardship and relentless pursuit of education, she turned a childhood dream into a profession that she deeply loves. She is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian.

Professional Journey

Dr. Lestayo graduated among the top of my class at Nova Southeastern University, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Afterward, she completed an intensive one-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery internship at the Dental College of Georgia. She brings surgical skill and deep clinical knowledge into everyday patient care.

Life Outside the Clinic

Outside of dentistry, her greatest joy is being a mother to her teenage son, Derek. He inspires her daily with his curiosity, humor and resilience. When she is not in the clinic, you will find her traveling, exploring world history, tasting new cuisines and spending quality time with her big, vibrant Cuban family.
